Izzy and Zoey are inseparable! Zoey just really loves cuddling with Izzy
on the papasan chair. It's the only piece of furniture they're allowed
on and they sure take advantage of it!
They are doing great and getting along just fine. Zoey, almost 10 months,
is now in the intermediate obedience class at the humane society. While
she's not perfect, she learns quickly and is eager to please; though,
I notice that she is much more comforable having her big bro around! Izzy
is great. He's really mellowed out of the frenetic puppy stage and is
a great leash walker. I'll probably take him into some type of advanced
class when my schedule frees up in a month or so.
Eddie and I are also looking forward to welcoming a new baby in June!
So, we are already starting to prepare the pups for a new addition to
the family.
Hope all is well with you and your rescues! -Jen

Ozzy, as we named him, quickly became the light of our lives. When he was ten months old, we adopted another puppy from It's The Pits, a female Staffordshire Terrier mix that we named Kitty. Ozzy and Kitty are now the stars of our neighborhood for their friendliness and good manners. We have certainly worked hard to train and socialize them well, and we give them plenty of daily exercise (miles of walking on the leash combined with some play time on the beach or in the local park), but we can say without a doubt that they are good, well tempered dogs and no danger to people, including our new baby, or other animals, including our neighbor's cat. We could never thank Beth enough for introducing us properly to these dogs through her excellent rescue organization. Because of her efforts many wonderful dogs will escape doomed lives in shelters for happy lives in good homes where they are well cared for and well loved.

Dante just keeps getting bigger and bigger...he's about 85lbs right now
and still filling out. Oh my, he's a handful, especially with all that
weight behind him. Here's some pics of the growing boy and his girlfriend!
And I know we don't have a 100% success story YET, but I'd love to write
a little something for your website about us rescuing Dante and how much
love he has brought us. I wish more people would go out and rescue animals.
Do you have a blog or anything? Let me know. Thanks again.
Take care, Heidi and Chad

We just wanted to update you on Sierra. She's doing just fine and we love her! She's an absolute delight to be around. I take her out every morning (night, now that it's getting hot!) for a bike ride around the neighborhood. And when they had monthly events in our neighborhood, we'd take her to show her off. We were worried about getting negative comments about her, but
Thank you,
Marcela, Bryan and Sierra.

My husband and I met Beth Gruff of It's The Pits almost one year ago at a dog rescue fair in San Diego. We were ready to adopt a puppy and stopped to look at a ten week old American Pit Bull Terrier mix that Beth had in a pen beside her booth at the fair. My husband instantly fell in love with the mellow, easy-going puppy, but I suffered from a Pit Bull prejudice based on the bad press the dogs have received. While my husband played with the puppy, I talked with Beth and had the chance to meet some of her adult Pit Bull mix dogs. I quickly learned that Beth's dogs were far from aggressive and vicious creatures.
