Pokey, is a 4
yr old male, #A254396 (Santa Barbara
County - Lompoc Shelter).
His picture is on
Pet Harbor,
Petfinder and CAPA. He is a very good boy, We believe he
is part cat as he has used at least 2 or 3 of his lives.
Our 1st contact with him was about 2 years ago when he was shot (2
or 3 times) and tazed during a raid on the residence that he was at.
Those bullets and barbs were removed as the dog was taken into
custody at that time.
We picked him up 12-29-06, after we had several sightings of him
running in a park area.
Pokey had a large, weeping abscess on his face. When
our vet checked it out, she found that he had a bullet imbedded on
his face area.
Verification that it was the same dog from both incidents was when
an old neighbor came in saw the dog, and said it was “Capone”
The people knew where the old/original owner so they told them that
he was here. The one owner contacted the supervisor, telling
him a “story” that they were so upset and they really wanted to get
him back. Supposedly that abscess/lump had been there for the
last 2 yrs, but as we treated the dog last time, and had the bullet
checked out to see if it came from a police revolver (which it was
not).
Due to the background that this poor dog has gone thru, we were
hoping to get him out of our area and into a new environment.
He is a very strong boy, does try to walk himself on the leash, but
on the whole, very sweet and gentle.
Thank you for any help that can be give our “Pokey”
boy!
